The national and international music world at the moment is nothing if not a buzz with excitement. Our very own Tom Cooney will be coming back from Dublin soon for the purposes of a fantastic tour with fellow AMP shortlisters, Jack Ladder and Ross McLennan.
UK lovely Patrick Wolf has just brought out his new studio album, The Bachelor. The likes of which are sure to shock, astound and delight any Wolf fans out there as well as convert more then it's fair share of new ones.
Maximo Park have also been back in the studio with their third full length album hitting our shelves not long ago at all. Fingers crossed for an Australian tour!
Another highly anticipated release of late would have to be the incorporable, Jarvis Cocker with his latest album, Further Complications. You may remember him for the 90's when Pulp ruled our hearts and our airwaves. The incredible Mr. Cocker has come a long way since then still writing memorable and inspiring tunes but now doing it with a flair that I imagine surprises even himself.
There are so many other acts doing great things at the moment that I'd love to mention but we're running out of space but you can hear all these incredible artists plus more on 106.9Tune!fm.

Feature Album Review: Little Birdy - Confetti
Perth indie outfit, Little Birdy achieved an impressive amount of attention with their debut album BigBigLove back in 2004. They made less of a splash with their followup in 2006 but now in 09 they're set to dazzle again with the release of their third studio album, Confetti.
It's difficult to know whether the current hype surrounding the release of Confetti is justified or merely a ploy to put some excitement back in the Little Birdy camp, What with lead singer Katie Steele's brother Luke having done so well with his latest project Empire of the Sun. Perhaps the shadow of her older brother is getting too much.
But then again people who like one don't necessary like the other. As years pass the Steele siblings target audiences grow further and further apart. An occurrence that I think could ultimately be for the best.
If you're already a fan of Little Birdy then Confetti certainly won't change your opinion on their brilliance.
If you've yet to get into their sound then I suppose this is as good a place to start as any.
Confetti is full of hummable melodies, memorable riffs and the occasional surprise.
Little Birdy will be touring the country all month in order to promote said release. The reaction so far has been more then a little favorable with most shows so far selling out long before hand.
Don't get left behind. Jump on the proverbial band wagon and give Little Birdy a chance. Could be well worth your while.

The Riders Have Returned
Sydney group, Red Riders hit the scene back in 2005. In that time they've released two fantastic Eps and a stunning debut album, Replica Replica.
The indie four piece made waves with singles such as Slide in Next to Me and A.S.P.I.R.I.N. They toured the country with numerous other inspirational Oz bands and found themselves quite the extensive following.
It took some time for the glow of Replica Replica to wear off but it seems as if the second it did there they were, back and ready to rock the country once more.
The Riders have stepped out of the fog of their hibernation and are set to release their sophomore album, Drown in Colour, the release date of which is July 3rd.
I know that might seem like a wack away but if you're like me and can't wait for some Red Riders goodness then you're in luck because the new single, You've Got a Lot of Nerve has already hit our airwaves and a tour of the same name is about to be underway.
If you've never seen Red Riders live then I highly recommend giving them a shot. And for those of you poor souls out there who have yet to hear their music then honestly what are you waiting for? Get on myspace and have a listen or even just tune into 106.9 Tune!fm. Happy listening.
Greetings
